I am a graduate of the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and English, and a double minor in Philosophy and Spanish. I am originally from North Carolina, but moved to the Midwest to attend college.I am fluent in Spanish, and love to work with students who are learning a second language, whether Spanish or English. I tutor students in Spanish, reading, writing, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, and test preparation. Additionally, I work with students who are preparing for the ACT or SAT exams.As an educator, I am enthusiastic and energetic. I have a passion for creativity and learning, and like to use my enthusiasm to excite students about their own studies. I think this is an important method to help my students achieve the best possible performance.In my free time, I enjoy singing, music, reading, theater arts, and writing. I am a published writer (both non-fiction and fiction) and a spoken-word poet.
