Private tutor in Greensboro, NC

Education

Honors graduate (3.87 overall GPA) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education (choral/general)

Experience

I would love to be a tutor because I understand what it's like to struggle academically through rigorous course work while striving to achieve high standards set by myself and teachers/professors. I have always set high academic expectations for myself and knew that my hard work throughout public schooling would propel my chances into being accepted into a University where I could continue my passion for teaching and music. I've had a lot of support from teachers and professors throughout my academic life so far, and I want to provide that same support and ensure success for current students. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have given private vocal and music theory/ear training instruction to middle and high school students who have gone on to audition and perform in North Carolina honors ensembles and are able to use technique and knowledge to teach themselves new repertoire for performance and academic practices. I have taken up through four required music theory and ear training courses during my time at UNCG, as well as four years of private vocal and choral ensemble instruction. I also currently hold the presidential position on the North Carolina Music Educators Association collegiate state board, and held the Vice President/Pres. Elect position during the previous year.

Not only do I set high attainable expectations for myself, but I also do the same for my students. My top priority and goal is to provide skills necessary for my students to define their own success and establish and reach goals they set for themselves through personalized individual instruction and musicianship training. I want to help my students be proud of the hard work they put into all of their endeavors.
